1st Priorslee and St Georges Scout Group is very proud to have 2 Cub Packs running!

The Cub Packs meet on Tuesdays at 6:45pm (Darby Pack) and Wednesday at 6:15 (Telford Pack). We hold our meetings in the Scout Hut on Snedshill Way, unless you are notified in advance of us going on a visit.

The packs are made up of Sixes. Each six have a different coloured woggle and will have a Sixer and Seconder.  It is the job of the Sixer to make sure the cubs in his/her six are smart, standing correctly and behave in the circle ready for ‘Grand Howl.’ The Seconder supports the Sixer in this role, and they both help members of the six if necessary during activities.

All Cubs will make their Promise when they have their investiture.  As Cubs we try to keep our Promise and follow the Cub Scout Law in our everyday lives.  Cubs will often repeat the Promise and Law at different formal events, so it is worth being familiar with the words:

I Promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law

Cub Scouts always do their best
think of others before themselves
and do a good turn every day

The leaders will meet regularly to discuss and plan a programme for the term.  This includes planning any visits and camps so we will try to give as much notice as possible of dates. We try to keep the activities varied, while also covering as many of the activity badges as we can.  We will aim to complete one Challenge Badge per term which will provide the focus theme for that term.

There are a number of events which happen every year in the Scouting Calendar, here are some to give you a head start:

  • St. Georges day (April)
  • Camps (spring/summer)
  • Athletics event (June)
  • Sponsored Cycle Ride (June)
  • Swimming gala (Sept)
  • Remembrance Sunday (Nov)
